A Fond Farewell for St. Flannan's Primary

Date:
Monday, 6 March, 2017

Former pupils will have a chance to take a walk down memory lane before St. Flannan’s Primary School in Kirkintilloch closes its doors for the last time.

On Thursday 16 March the school will be hosting St. Flannan’s Fond Farewell Funday and former pupils and teachers are invited to attend an open evening between 7-8.30pm to take a stroll around the building and reminisce about their time at the school.

During the day, pupils who have been learning about St. Flannan’s through the decades, will be entertaining their families and the local community with music and a tea party.

On Friday 17 March at 1.30pm the school will be celebrating its community of faith and learning at its closing Mass in St. Flannan’s Church and all families, former pupils and staff are welcome to join in this special celebration.

Head Teacher Grace McGill is excited about the forthcoming events. She said, “I’m sure many of St Flannan’s former pupils and teachers have wonderful memories of their time here and will be keen to come along to say a final farewell. Everyone who has ever been a part of this fantastic school is more than welcome to come along. We would be grateful for any photographs or memorabilia that anyone connected to the school would like to lend to our display of ‘St. Flannan’s through the years’. If you have any items that you think would be a nice addition to our display we would ask that you hand them into the school by Monday 13 March. We will of course return all items.”

She continued, “We hope to see a lot of familiar faces on our Fond Farewell Funday and all the teachers here are looking forward to sharing happy memories and stories with former pupils, teachers and members of the local community.”
