Employee News 2020, Issue 83 - Supporting Awareness in the Festive Period: Drug, Alcohol & Substance Misuse

As part of our commitment to Healthy Working lives, and with the Festive Season not too far away, the Council recognises the importance of encouraging employees to relax and enjoy themselves after a busy and challenging year but would also raise your awareness of the risks of alcohol, drugs and substance misuse on health and wellbeing.

It is acknowledged that employees may need support, particularly at this time of year and therefore we encourage you to seek help at the earliest opportunity. The Drug, Alcohol & Substance Misuse Policy outlines the Council’s protocol and where to find appropriate access to support. For more information visit: Drug, Alcohol and Substance Misuse Policy.

Employees are reminded they must attend work free from the effects of alcohol, drugs or misuse of substances in order to protect all employees, the Council’s reputation and the wider East Dunbartonshire community.

This promotion is part of the Council's Healthy Working Lives initiative, and our ongoing commitment to help employees improve their health and wellbeing.
You can visit the Employee Zone Wellbeing page to get more information around looking after yourself and get more information on services available, alongside health and wellbeing tips.
