Technical Notes 2024, Issue 68 - Community Council Funding 2024/2025

  • The purpose of this technical note is to advise Members of the details of the grants to be paid by the Council to each Community Council for 2024/2025.
  • The amount to be paid to each Community Council for 2024/25 is consistent with previous years and the amount reflected in the Council’s Budget for this current financial year.

Technical Notes 2024, Issue 67 - Westerhill Development Road Utility Survey

  1. The purpose of this technical note is to notify Members of a forthcoming Utility survey, associated with the Westerhill Development Road (WDR) project. The survey will be undertaken by L&M Survey Services and is scheduled to begin on 22nd April, taking place at night-time, over a 2-week period, ending on 5th May.
  2. The survey is non-intrusive in nature and equipment used will be a combination of radio detection as well as ground penetrating radar (GPR) devices at ground level.

Technical Notes 2024, Issue 63 - International Workers’ Memorial Day 2024

  1. On Sunday 28 April, the Council will once again be marking International Workers’ Memorial Day. We recognise this day every year to remember those who have lost their lives at work, or from work related injury or illness, and events and activities take place right across the world.
  2. As part of the Council’s commemorations, the flags at our Southbank Marina HQ will fly at half-mast on the day.

1. The purpose of this technical note is to make Elected Members aware of the Draft Scottish National Adaptation Plan (SNAP) 2024-29, which is currently subject to consultation.

Technical Notes 2024, Issue 61 - Chief Planning Officers: Statutory Guidance and appointment

  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to advise Elected Members of the appointment of a Chief Planning Officer for the Council as planning authority.
  2. The Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 (as amended) requires that each planning authority must appoint a Chief Planning Officer. The appointment and role of the Chief Planning Officer became a statutory requirement in April 2024, to advise authorities on planning and other functions relating to development.

  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide an update on the Green Infrastructure Project at Woodhill & Etive Parks, Bishopbriggs
  2. Following a successful tender, P1 Solutions has been appointed to carry out green infrastructure improvements within the parks.

Technical Notes 2024, Issue 57 - Staff Survey - Joint Inspection of Adult Support and Protection Arrangements in East Dunbartonshire

  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to advise on the Staff Survey feedback received as part of the Joint Adult Support and Protection Inspection which formed a part of the inspection assessment methodology.
  2. The ASP Staff Survey was issued to approximately 250 staff across Social Work, NHS, Police Scotland and key third sector partners in East Dunbartonshire and was completed between the 13th and 28th November 2023.
