Local people are being given an opportunity to help shape a ten year plan which aims to improve outcomes and reduce inequality across East Dunbartonshire.

The draft Local Outcomes Improvement Plan (LOIP) has been produced by the East Dunbartonshire Community Planning Partnership – a group of statutory and voluntary sector partners working together to plan and deliver joint programmes and services – and is now available for consultation.

Chair of the Community Planning Partnership Board, Council Leader Gordan Low said, “This draft Plan is based on extensive research carried out within local communities over the past year or so which identified very clearly the needs and aspirations of the people living there.

“While public organisations in East Dunbartonshire have a strong tradition of working effectively in partnership to improve outcomes for local people, we know we must continue to focus on improvement especially for communities who experience greater inequality. That is the purpose of this new draft ten year Plan.”

The draft LOIP considers the following themes:

  • economic growth and recovery
  • employment and skills
  • children and young people
  • safer and stronger communities
  • adult health and well-being
  • older adults, vulnerable people and carers.

And it outlines how local public organisations can work together to provide people with the best possible support and services across these themes.

Councillor Low added, “It is important that we get feedback on this draft Plan from local communities and so I would encourage as many people as possible to complete the online survey before the closing date of 23 October.”

The survey is available on the consultation pages of the Council’s website or paper copies of the draft Plan and survey are available from community venue reception areas.
