Epilepsy Scotland posterOn Tuesday 26 March 2019, three of East Dunbartonshire Council's public buildings will be lit up purple in support for International Epilepsy Awareness Day.

The Community Hubs in Bearsden and Kirkintilloch as well as Milngavie Town Hall will glow purple in attempt to get people talking about epilepsy and tackle the stigma and myths surrounding the condition.

Joint Council Leader Vaughan Moody said, "The Council is happy to lend its support to Purple Day and to be part of the conversation around epilepsy which affects 55,000 people across Scotland."

Joint Council Leader Andrew Polson added, "Three of our buildings will be bathed in purple light to draw attention to epilepsy and perhaps you too would like to get involved. Find out more on the epilepsy society's website."

While organisations are being encouraged to light up buildings, you can also play a part by wearing purple or hold a fundraising event.
