Save the Date: St Agatha’s Primary Farewell Event

Date:
Tuesday, 24 January, 2017

St Agatha’s Primary School in Kirkintilloch will close its doors for the last time at the end of March as teachers and pupils move into the new Holy Trinity Primary School after the Easter holidays.

To commemorate the school’s history, staff and pupils are working hard to plan a big farewell celebration on Thursday 30 March.

On this date there will be a fun day for pupils and present staff throughout the school day and between 5pm and 8pm there will be an opening evening for past and present pupils, parents and the local community to have their last chance to wander down memory lane and catch up with old friends over a cup of tea and some nibbles.

Paul Manley, Acting Headteacher of St Agatha’s Primary School, is appealing for ex-pupils to get in touch. He said: “We thought it would make an interesting display if former pupils could send in any photos, memorabilia or stories of St Agatha’s or of when the building housed the original Gartconner Primary School.  If anyone does have items that we can borrow for the display, we would appreciate it if they could get them to the school by Friday 24 March.”

He continued, “Although tinged with sadness, I am looking forward to the farewell event and I hope previous pupils and families will join us as we have a fitting celebration to match the happy memories we have of this wonderful school.”

Can you help the school prepare for their special event?  You can email your story to office@st-agathas.e-dunbarton.sch.uk or hand in any items to the office at the school.
