Talented students will be at the 'art' of Kirkintilloch town centre from today (Monday) as they take part in a week-long 'Pop-Up' exhibition.

Amazing works by final-year HND art students at New College Lanarkshire - Kirkintilloch Campus will be on display from 12-19 June in a ground-floor unit of the Regent Centre (formerly known as Fashion Shop).

Both the Council and Business Gateway professionals will be on hand to offer support and mentoring to participants.

It follows the successful Pop-Up Shop Kirkintilloch initiative held in the town centre from 20 March-1 April.

Councillor Jim Gibbons, Convener of Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets, said, "This innovative event will give art students at Kirkintilloch Campus the chance to display their work in a gallery-type environment.

"As well as being a showcase for the students' endeavours, it also allows them to place their works in the marketplace, free of charge.

"There are hopes it could become an annual event, with more Pop-Up Shop-branded events in the pipeline."
