Mavis Valley to operate on extended summer hours

Date:
Friday, 23 April, 2021

Mavis Valley Household Waste Recycling Centre is set to return to normal summer operating hours from Monday (26 April).

Following on from the Scottish Governments further easing of travel restrictions, the site will be open Monday to Friday from 8am to 7.30pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 6.30pm with restrictions and strict site management in place.

Traffic management will continue to be in place in order to control traffic flow on Balmuildy Road.

The Council’s Depute Chief Executive, Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets, Thomas Glen, said, "The site has been consistently busy throughout the lockdown period and the changes recently has resulted in exceptional demand placed on the recycling centre.

"The easing of restrictions means we can now extend opening hours in order to allow residents further access to the site.

"The need for physical distancing remains in place and there is no change to the number of vehicles able to access the site at one time and visitors will require to maintain a safe two metre distance between staff on site in addition to other members of the public.

"We're also working to develop and introduce an online booking system that should allow better management of demands and control access to the Recycling Centre going forward."

Full details of the Mavis Valley Recycling Centre reopening can be found on the recycling and waste section.
