Local health and social care – Your view matters

East Dunbartonshire residents are being given the opportunity to have their say about local health and social care services.

Their views will help to shape the East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) Strategic Plan, which sets out how the organisation aims to help people and communities to live in good health for longer, as well as helping them to improve their own wellbeing.

Priorities for the plan will be identified by listening to what the local community – including service users, carers and their families – believe is important to them.

Two public consultation events are being held in August and September – attendees will be asked to express their views on specific health and social care-related issues.

The event details are:

  • Tuesday 22 August – 12.30-4.30pm-Woodhill Evangelical Church, Wester Cleddens Road, Bishopbriggs;
  • Friday 1 September – 12.30-4.30pm - Bearsden Burgh Hall, Drymen Road, Bearsden.

Both events are open to any member of the public and include tea, coffee and a sandwich lunch for all participants.

Ian Fraser, Chair of the HSCP, said that the events are a great opportunity for the community to help shape services.

He said, “Community participation is vital to the planning, design and delivery of health and social care in East Dunbartonshire. Who better to tell us how these services should be tailored than the people who use them?”

“It is really important that the people who access these services help us to get it right – they can suggest changes or improvements that we may not have thought about. This is a fantastic opportunity for them to air their views.”

Susan Manion, HSCP Chief Officer, added, “Health and social care are vital services and with budgets becoming increasingly challenging, our goal is to make sure that service users and communities continue to receive high quality care that is tailored to meet their needs.”
