Last chance to have your say on new outdoor trails

You are running out of time if you would like to have your say on plans by the EDLC Trust to create 11 new outdoor trails across the area as part of the popular ‘Trials and Tales’ project.

Since July, four consultation events have been held with the final two planned for September.

Over the last two years, hundreds of people from across East Dunbartonshire came together at events to share their stories and objects from the past. The outdoor trails will help to capture and immortalise those stories from local history for future generations.

Trust Chair, Councillor Anne Jarvis, is hopeful that as well as those already involved in the project, the exciting prospect of helping develop an outdoor trail will attract new blood.

She said, “Please consider coming along to hear about the findings from the Trails and Tales community activity programme, even if you didn’t manage to be a part of it. Developing these outdoor trails and deciding their location will be an exciting opportunity for people to contribute to this popular and fascinating local heritage project.”

The events will be fun and relaxed with refreshments provided. The details are as follows:

  • Kirkintilloch & Lenzie - Tuesday 20 September from 7-9pm in William Patrick Library, 2-4 W High St, Glasgow G66 1AD
  • Bishopbriggs & Auchinairn - Wednesday 28 September from 7-9pm in Bishopbriggs Library, 170 Kirkintilloch Rd Bishopbriggs, G64 2LX
