It is virtually child's play to fit your car seats safely

Parents and carers of young children in East Dunbartonshire who want to check that their car seats have been properly fitted can do so with a virtual check-up.

The Council has been unable to provide its usual face-to-face child seat checking advice at events during the pandemic.

However, Good Egg Safety have developed a programme of virtual consultations so that parents, grandparents and carers can have a video call with one of their experts to go through any concerns you may have and ensure your little one is sitting safely.

Their next event is taking place on Wednesday 27 January and they are able to do 10 consultations in a day. You can book a consultation directly by visiting the Good Egg Safety website [opens in a new window].

Joint Council leader Vaughan Moody, said, "It is a sad fact that many seats are either incorrectly fitted or unsuitable for the car or the child. This means that many babies and children could be at serious risk of injury. Even when travelling at low speeds, the advantages of having properly fitted child car seats are significant."

Joint Council leader Andrew Polson added, "I would encourage residents to take advantage of this free check to put their mind at rest and ensure that, should they ever be put to the test, their child seats will do their job properly."
