East Dunbartonshire Community Planning Partnership (CPP) is calling on residents of Hillhead and Harestanes to help shape services by sharing their views and getting involved in potential plans for their area.

Having gathered feedback from over 500 residents during last year’s ‘How Good is Our Place Survey?' the CPP has drafted up plans to address the needs and ambitions set out by the community.

Chair of the CPP, Council Leader Gordan Low, said, “Now that these plans have been drafted we would like to hear what local residents think of them, to ensure we have the right priorities for action. This is a very important stage of the planning process as we will use residents’ feedback to finalise the plans which will determine how we move forward in developing the area in the future.

“We are hoping to see the same high levels of community participation we saw last year during the ‘How good is Our Place Survey?’ and I would urge anyone who has an interest in shaping the future of Hillhead and Harestanes to come along to the workshops we are hosting in the coming weeks.”

The Community Planning Partnership Workshops are taking place on:

  • Wednesday 27 September from 10.30am -12.30pm in Hillhead Community Centre
  • Thursday 28 September from 2pm - 4pm in Harestanes Community Centre
  • Thursday 28 September from 6.30pm - 8.30pm in Hillhead Community Centre

Cllr Low, continued, “These workshops are designed to stimulate discussion and to generate a more participative way of working together as we’d like to see local residents in the driving seat when bringing about changes and developments to services in the area.”
