Youngsters in Bishopbriggs now have a wonderful new play area to enjoy thanks to a £45,000 investment from East Dunbartonshire Council.

Callieburn Park was created as part of the Council’s ten-year Capital Programme and is in line with the Council’s Open Space Strategy.

Consultation with the local community helped design the look of this colourful new facility.

The new state-of-the-art play area, located just off Callieburn Road, incorporates a wide variety of new modern play equipment so families can have fun and enjoy playing outdoors. These include flat and cradle swings, a basket swing, roundabout, multi-play unit, springer, springer see-saw, a rotator and talking tubes;

The community facility, which is now in full swing, was officially opened by the Vice Convener of Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets, Councillor Susan Murray.

Councillor Murray said, “This play area is another excellent example of work that is being undertaken by the Council to improve play opportunities across the whole of East Dunbartonshire.

“What we have now is a colourful, safe and exciting play area for children of all ages and I’m sure the local community will be thrilled.”
