A consultation has been launched to gather residents’ views on the draft Fair Access to Community Care (Adults) policies and the associated updated draft eligibility criteria policy.

People living in East Dunbartonshire are being asked to have their say on the policies which aim to ensure that the Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) Board:

  • Meets its statutory duties in relation to care provision and the Equality Act
  • Operates a fair, equitable and transparent allocation of resources to individuals with complex needs who require significant levels of community care support
  • Meets increasing demand within the overall allocation of resources in a way that is financially sustainable and operates within agreed budgets.

To support this consultation process two informal drop-in sessions have been arranged to give residents an opportunity to find out more about these draft policies.  The details of the events are as follows:

  • Thursday 24 January 2019 – Bearsden Halls (Community Hub) between 1pm and 4pm
  • Tuesday 29 January 2019 – Hillhead Community Centre (main hall) between 12.30pm and 3.30pm

Chief Officer of East Dunbartonshire Health & Social Care Partnership Susan Manion said, “These sessions are open to everyone living in East Dunbartonshire and I’d encourage anyone interested in shaping our Fair Access to Community Care (Adults) policies to come along to find out more and raise any questions they may have.

"The draft policies are available to view on the Council website and paper copies can be requested by calling 0141 232 8200.  We would like to hear your views on these policies and details on how to leave your comments can be found on the website."

Deadline for commenting on the draft Fair Access Policies is Friday 8 February 2019.
