People of all ages took the chance to find out more about the exciting future taking shape in Bearsden recently.
Bearsden Community Hub and Kilmardinny House will open early next year, with nearly £6m being invested in the town.
Around 65 people attended a recent drop-in session at Bearsden Primary School - asking questions and obtaining feedback on the variety of services and facilities which will be available.
The Community Hub will bring East Dunbartonshire Council, library, leisure and cultural services under one roof, while Kilmardinny House is being transformed into a new venue for East Dunbartonshire - supporting conferences, meetings, weddings, arts and other events.
Representatives from East Dunbartonshire Council, the Leisure and Culture Trust, and project partners were among those who spoke to local residents.
Councillor Rhondda Geekie, Leader of East Dunbartonshire Council, said, "A huge thank-you to everyone who took the time to come along to the drop-in session for Bearsden Community Hub and Kilmardinny House.
"Feedback from local residents was positive and officers answered a range of questions on the projects - both of which are forging ahead.
"The new Community Hub will bring together a range of Council services under one roof in an exciting and innovative way - helping us to provide services more efficiently to our residents and improve their experience of dealing with the Council.
“The transformation of Kilmardinny House will allow us to continue supporting the diverse range of arts, culture and leisure services which the facility is renowned for, while making it even more popular as a venue for events, weddings and conferences.”
The new Community Hub, which is based on a reconfiguration of the Burgh Hall site on Drymen Road, will include the re-provisioning of the library and community archives from Brookwood, as well as enhancing the current hall facilities through a full refurbishment.
In addition to bringing together Council, library, leisure and cultural services in a single building, it will also include meeting rooms and social work facilities, new public toilets and an upgrade of the current accommodation.
The on-site customer services team will make it easier for residents to access information about a variety of different Council services and make payments in just one visit.
Meanwhile, the Kilmardinny House project includes the creation of a new garden pavilion extension, which will provide a modern, flexible space and enhance the venue as a centre for local arts, performance and community groups, and businesses.
It will be able to accommodate a range of activities, including performances, exhibitions, conferences and weddings.
The existing Category A-listed House is being partially refurbished, both inside and out, including redecoration and repairs to external stonework and windows.
