Cllr Polson, Christopher, Aedan & Cllr MoodyAedan Coll and Christopher Donnelly started their Council apprenticeships together, joined the same team and there was nothing to separate them as they were both chosen as finalists for a UK-wide award recently.

Now in the second year of East Dunbartonshire Council's Apprenticeship Programme within the Streetscene Environmental team, Aedan (19) and Christopher (17) were shortlisted for the APSE UK Apprentice of the Year Awards.

Councillor Andrew Polson, Joint Leader of the Council, said, "We have a proud tradition of attracting the very best local young people into our Modern Apprenticeship Programme and that trend continues with these two young men. To be finalists at these prestigious awards is a wonderful achievement and shows just how dedicated and hard-working they are. I'd like to congratulate them both and wish them continued success in their careers."

Joint Council Leader, Vaughan Moody added, "As well as offering my congratulations to Aedan and Christopher I'd like to thank their colleagues and other Council Officers who support them in their day-to-day work and offer them a rich programme of training, learning and work experience. Our apprentices perform so well due to their own commitment and talent but also because they benefit from a great team spirit."
