The 92-page report looks at our locally agreed priority outcomes and contains case studies and examples of the work that was done over the reporting period across a range of services to achieve them. Our six local priority outcomes are:

  • East Dunbartonshire has a sustainable resilient economy with busy town and village centres, a growing base, and is an attractive place in which to visit and invest.
  • Our people are equipped with knowledge and skills for learning, life and work.
  • Our children and young people are safe, healthy and ready to learn.
  • East Dunbartonshire is a safe place in which to live, work and visit.
  • Our people experience good physical and mental health and wellbeing with access to a quality built and natural environment in which to lead healthier and more active lifestyles.
  • Our older population and more vulnerable citizens are supported to maintain their independence and enjoy a high quality of life.

Joint Council Leader, Vaughan Moody, said, "I'd encourage everyone to have a look at this very detailed document to see the sheer scale of work carried out by the Council. Our teams are making a difference across East Dunbartonshire - from closing the attainment gap in our schools to supporting small businesses, from tackling fly-tipping to improving play areas and from maintaining roads to delivering sports programmes."

It is a must-read for anyone interested in finding out more about the range of services that the Council provides. It looks across the area at what is being delivered for local communities in towns and villages across East Dunbartonshire."
