For the first time, parents and carers in East Dunbartonshire will be able to apply for Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) places for children aged 2, 3 and 4 using an online form on the Council’s website.

Anyone wishing to apply for an ELC place for the 2018/19 session for children starting in August 2018, January 2019 or April 2019 can now do so online through the ‘Early Learning & Childcare section’ of the website.

Parents/carers are asked to complete the online form which will provide the facility to upload supporting documents, using the guidance notes provided.  The closing date for 3 and 4 year olds is Wednesday 28 February 2018.  If further information is required simply call 0300 123 4510.

Ann Davie, Depute Chief Executive - Education, People & Business, said, “If you are a parent or carer of a child aged 2, 3 or 4 and you’d like them to go to an ELC centre later this year or early next year then you need to complete a registration form now to secure a place.

“By introducing online applications we hope that you find the system easier and more convenient. This added flexibility should make the process quicker than in previous years. Help is on hand with guidance notes or please get in touch if there is anything we can assist with.”

If you are unable to apply online you can get assistance from an ELC centre or alternatively you can contact earlyyears@eastdunbarton.gov.uk to request a paper application.
