At its meeting last night (Thursday 16 March 2017) East Dunbartonshire Council agreed to commence the construction phase of the Auchinairn Place Project which will see a new Community Facility and early years centre completed in 2018.
Depute Chief Executive for Place, Neighbourhood and Corporate Assets, Thomas Glen, confirmed, “Final construction costs are now confirmed and are affordable within the confirmed capital budget for the project of £4.95 million.
“This decision enables us to proceed to appoint the main contractor to build this new community facility in Auchinairn, which is due to be completed in Spring 2018.”
Following extensive engagement with the community, the design phase for the Auchinairn Place Project was completed earlier this year and Planning Permission was granted on 28 February 2017.
