Christmas lights switch-on events continue

Let there be lights - Christmas light switch-on events continue in East Dunbartonshire this week.

This year's festive illumination celebrations are being led by the community, with support from the Council as regards supply of the festive lights, power supply, officer time and trees where appropriate.

Events have already taken place in Lennoxtown, Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch, Mugdock Country Park, Haughhead and Torrance.

Bearsden and Milngavie are ready to get in on the Yuletide action:

  • Traders in Bearsden have organised a Christmas tree lights switch-on at 5pm on Friday 2 December. Entertainment includes carol singers, Santa, festive stalls and the shops will all be open later - full of Christmas gifts and food. There will also be free mince pies and hot chocolate.
  • Milngavie St Andrew’s Festival and Christmas Lights Switch-On takes place on Saturday 3 December from noon-6.30pm. There will be lights, kids attractions, Disney characters, music, food, dancing, pipe band parade and more. The lights will be switched on at 6.30pm.
Christmas lights will also be switched on at:
  • Milton of Campsie on Friday 2 December at 6pm (community council event)
     
  • Lenzie on Saturday 3 December at 5.30pm (community council event).
