Now into its third decade, the annual festive exhibition opens on Saturday 9 November and promises an interesting selection of paintings and gifts, which have been crafted by more than 50 artists.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the work of invited artists including Stanley Bird, Pam Carter and Fiona Clasen, to name but a few. The gallery will also be showcasing the Lillie’s collection of contemporary prints. The ‘Impressions’ exhibition will be in the smaller galleries and will include the work of Alasdair Gray, Barbara Robertson, Willie Rodger and James Greer.

Sandy Marshall, Chair of EDLC Trust, said, "We are delighted to host this much loved annual event. The quality of work on show is always high but this year’s show is particularly impressive.

“The exhibition launches with an open invite to enjoy hot chocolate and pastries at the Lillie between 11am and 1pm on Saturday 9 November. Everything on show is for sale and gifts are priced from around £10.”

Councillor Billy Hendry, Convener of the Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets Committee, added, "The Christmas exhibition at the Lillie has become part of the festive build-up and we would encourage everyone to come along and see for themselves. The exhibition offers a selection of more unusual gifts for loved ones as well as the chance to support a local arts venue.”

Christmas at the Lillie runs until Wednesday 18 December. The Lillie Art Gallery is on Station Road, Milngavie, and is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to1pm and 2pm to 5pm. Call the gallery on 0141 956 5536 for more information.
