Hundreds of people across East Dunbartonshire have already had their say on what the 2022/23 Council budget should focus on - and there is still time to get involved.

The ‘Your Voice Matters’ budget and priorities consultation is available to complete online via the Council website , while paper copies can be picked up/completed at the Council’s Community Hubs, libraries, community centres and leisure centres.

People, community groups and businesses are being asked for their views until 18 November, with findings being analysed and reported to Council in December to inform budget proposals for next year.

Councillor Vaughan Moody, Joint Leader of the Council, said, “We are glad that so many people have taken the time to complete the survey so far, but we want to hear from even more residents, organisations and businesses.

“Everyone can get involved, regardless of age, where you live or circumstance – we want to hear your views on our priorities, and where savings and income can be increased.”

Councillor Andrew Polson, Joint Leader of the Council, added, “The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on us all and so it’s important that people tell us if they feel our priorities should change in light of this unprecedented emergency.

“The consultation can be completed online but we’ve also made sure it’s available in paper format to ensure as many people as possible can access it and share their thoughts.”

The consultation will run for 12 weeks in total until 18 November. The findings are due to be reported to Council on 16 December to inform budget proposals for 2022/23.
