Provost Brown paid a visit to Kirkintilloch’s Golden Couple, Mr & Mrs Poynton, who were celebrating 50 years of married life together. Provost Brown said, “It is a great honour in my role as Provost of East Dunbartonshire to meet with residents celebrating milestone birthdays and important anniversaries. Congratulations to Billy and Ruth Poynton on the 50th anniversary of their marriage. I wish them many more happy years together.”
