Happy 100th Birthday Mrs Roberts!

Depute Provost Colette McDiarmid visited Bearsden resident MaudeDepute Provost Colette McDiarmid visited Bearsden resident Maude (known to her friends as Nikki) Roberts to congratulate her on her 100th birthday. Mrs Roberts, who was born down South, lived in Drumchapel and Erskine, before she moved in with her daughter Carol in Bearsden.

Mrs Roberts was in the Women’s Royal Air Force when she met her late husband, and they had four children, Carol, Andrew, Henry and Jill.  Jill lives in Sydney and Mrs Roberts has enjoyed many trips to Australia to visit her over the years.  She was a keen bowler and was the captain of her bowling club in Partick but what she loves most is spending time with her family – she has eight grandchildren,  six great grandchildren and another on the way!

Depute Provost McDiarmid said, “It was lovely to meet Mrs Roberts and congratulate her on this milestone birthday! I hope she enjoys all the celebrations she has planned with her family and has a very happy 100th birthday.”
