Happy 100th Betty

Provost Gillian Renwick with Betty and her son

Betty’s 100th birthday was celebrated in Birdston Care Home, Kirkintilloch, along with her son, daughter in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, staff and the Provost.

Provost Gillian Renwick joined in on the fun as Betty marked the occasion with her family and friends. They enjoyed entertainment, a special lunch, lots of birthday cake and listened to Betty’s favourite musician, Elvis, throughout the day.

Betty was originally from Troon and worked as a Primary School teacher for P1s to P3s. She enjoys  quizzes and was a keen golfer and swimmer.

Provost Renwick said, “I was delighted to have been able to spend Betty’s special day with her and her family. It was lovely to meet Betty, I hope she enjoyed the festivities and that it was a joyful day for her.”
