Employee News Issue 54 COVID-19:  Negative Test Results and Self Isolation Guidance for employees who live in Glasgow, West Dunbartonshire or East Renfrewshire

In Employee News 53/2020, issued on Wednesday (2 September 2020), we provided information and links to guidance in relation to the local restrictions that have been put in place in Glasgow City, West Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire council areas by the Scottish Government.

Further additional guidance has been provided by the Scottish Government and NHS Public Health in relation to negative test results and self-isolation, as follows:

  • If you live in an area where local restrictions are in place and you have been identified as a close contact, meaning you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive and therefore may be incubating the virus, you can now be tested.
  • You can book a test by self-referral either online at NHSinform.scot/test-and-protect or by calling 0800 028 2816.
  • However, if the test result is negative, that doesn’t mean you are not still incubating the COVID-19 virus. As such, you and the rest of your household need to continue to self-isolate for 14 days, even if the test result is negative
  • If you do not reside in an area of where local restrictions are in place, this guidance is not applicable and we would encourage you to keep informed by visiting the NHS Inform website [opens in a new window].

We will continue to keep you updated through Employee News as new guidance is issued or updates are provided.

Thank you
