I want to extend a very personal thank you to everyone who donated essential items for the local foodbank as part of my annual Christmas appeal. You can view a video message of thanks on the Provost's Instagram account.
Around two dozen bags packed with tins, microwaveable pouches and even some sweet treats were collected – a demonstration of the wonderful kindness you’ve shown to our local communities during a cost of living crisis that is affecting so many of us.
The foodbank in East Dunbartonshire is doing an amazing job of providing emergency food to those most in need and this donation will go a long way in helping families and individuals over the coming weeks and months. Many families will be able to enjoy a hot meal thanks to your generosity.
Finally, I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! Thank you for all your hard work throughout the year – it is much appreciated.
