Employee News 2022, Issue 39 - Teachers’ Pay Award 2022 – Industrial Action on 10 and 11 January

As part of the ongoing teachers’ pay dispute, the EIS, ADHS and SSTA teaching unions have confirmed they have called their members to strike in East Dunbartonshire primary schools on Tuesday 10 January and East Dunbartonshire secondary schools on Wednesday 11 January. The ADHS union has confirmed that its members will strike on 10 January and the SSTA union has advised that its members will strike on 11 January.

As a result of this strike action:

  • All East Dunbartonshire primary schools and ASN schools will be closed to pupils on Tuesday 10 January.
  • All East Dunbartonshire secondary schools will be closed to pupils on Wednesday 11 January.
  • All Early Years Centres, with the exception of Campsie Nursery, will remain open on both days.

OPERATIONAL ARRANGEMENTS DURING STRIKE ACTION

Facilities Management employees based within the Education estate should report to their normal work location unless otherwise instructed.

Early Years Centres Education (non-teaching) employees in Early Years centres ie Early Years Workers, should report for work as normal. Teaching staff who are part of the ballot and working within a Nursery/ Early Years Centre should report to the location listed in the table below for the Primary they are nearest to.

Education - All Employees (excluding non-teaching employees based in early years centres referenced above)

The arrangements for signing in on the days of action for education employees based in schools and not part of the ballot are detailed below for each establishment.

Please note, only Education employees (teaching and non-teaching) based within the schools are being requested to report to the locations listed below. On reporting for work on Tuesday 10 January (Primary and ASN schools) and Wednesday 11 January (secondary schools), employees will be provided with further information on the day with regards to their work allocation / location for the day.

If you are a multi-postholder across different bases you should report to the location below for the school you would be expected to have worked at on the day of action.
