The Council has been advised by the EIS teaching union that it is calling its members to strike on Thursday 24 November 2022 as part of the ongoing national pay dispute.
As a result of this strike action, all East Dunbartonshire primary, secondary and Additional Support Needs (ASN) schools will be closed to pupils on 24 November. All Early Years Centres, which are not included in the strike action, will remain open on that day.
Parents and carers are being advised of the strike action and resulting school closure directly by schools and the usual arrangements will be made for those in receipt of free school meals.
Work day arrangements are being made for all school-based staff not included in this strike mandate and these will be communicated to those employees once they have been finalised.
