Employee News 2021, Issue 12 - Covid-19: Employee Testing Update

Testing for Employees
It has been recently highlighted that Covid-19 testing is being rolled out across more of our workforce as part of the extended measures to manage and reduce the spread of the virus.

There are a number of pages in our Employee Zone on the Council website to support employee testing as well as the usual guides for those undertaking regular tests:

Testing and vaccination for HSCP employees
Covid-19 testing for employees
Covid-19 testing in schools and early years centres

Changes to Accessing Covid-19 Testing

With the move to a testing regime in the workforce and following a significantly increased capacity in testing through the NHS, employees can now book tests directly through the self-referral portal, which provides a more streamlined journey, with an option to tick the box for a prioritised essential worker test slot.

This removes the requirement for employees to acquire and input an employer reference code which was required to book a test through the Employer Referral Portal. With this improved and streamlined access to testing through the self-referral portal, the Employee Referral portal has now been decommissioned.

Covid-19 Reporting

Please remember that if you or a member of your household have tested positive or are required to isolate, you must immediately contact your line manager. If you cannot reach your line manager you should contact the HR Team on the reporting line 0141 574 5535.

Remember also, that if you require Wellbeing support you should make contact with your line manager as soon as possible. You can also find many resources to support yourself and your family on the Employee Zone Wellbeing page.
