Employee News 2020, Issue 78 - Access to welfare areas during Tier 4 – Restrictions

To further support the continuation of our essential services through Tier 4 of the Coronavirus pandemic we have reviewed welfare arrangements for our frontline employees.

I’m pleased to confirm that we have made a new welfare area in Milngavie Town Hall available for employees. The welfare area is in the old court room and has a rest area with up to 17 socially distanced spaces and can be accessed through the front courtyard doors.

The address for Milngavie Town Hall is 71 Station Road, G62 8BZ and the welfare area will be open Monday to Friday 8am-8pm and weekends from 11am-8pm. This will be available from Saturday 28 November.

A sign in/out process is in place as in all of our premises, so please make sure you complete this when using the welfare areas.

Clean as you go materials are also available to keep areas safe and clean after use and signage in relation to social distancing and wearing a face covering in communal areas should also be observed at all times.  We would ask that all employees support efforts to ensure that spaces are clean for all those using them.

The Community Hub in Bearsden will also be available for toilet access through the side door on Glenburn Rd only. This will be available Monday to Friday 8am-5pm and you should use the intercom at the door to request access from the janitorial assistant on duty.

Operational depots continue to be accessible for use as before for toilet and handwashing facilities and in Broomhill all welfare areas also remain available.  Access times for these depots vary. Broomhill Depot can be accessed from 7.30am to 6pm (Monday to Friday) through the entrance from the rear carpark with sign in and hand hygiene measures requiring to be adhered to on arrival.  Again, all signs in relation to Covid-19 measures to keep us all safe in the workplace should be adhered to at all times.

Access to KHCC in Kirkintilloch is continuing as before.  However, please be aware that all leisure centres remain closed and are therefore not available for toilet access or welfare use.

Please view our Workplace Guidance on the Employee Zone.

We will continue to update on availability of facilities but hope that this is helpful at this time.

Thank you
