Employee News 2020, Issue 43 - Coronavirus (Covid-19): Updated Shielding Guidance

Shielding was introduced to protect the most vulnerable in our communities from coronavirus (Covid-19) and although some restrictions in relation to the pandemic have been lifted, the Scottish Government recently announced an extension to the shielding period, which is now until at least the end of July 2020.

The purpose of the extension is to continue to protect those most at risk from coronavirus.  Some changes to the shielding advice were also announced, including being able to go outside to exercise from Thursday 18 June 2020 if it is safe to do so.

If you have received a letter to advise you to continue to shield until end of July, this means that you are not required to and cannot attend work at this time.  If you can, you should continue to work from home.
