Employee News 2020, Issue 29 - COVID-19: Message to All Employees from Joint Council Leaders

Thursday 9 April 2020

The global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is the most challenging experience we have faced in a generation, impacting every aspect of our personal and working lives.

As Joint Leaders of the Council, we wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to each and every one of you for all that you are doing to keep vital services delivered to our communities and to keep the Council functioning in these unprecedented times.

We understand the challenges faced by those of you on the frontline and the different challenges being faced by those of you that are having to work from home and those of you that are now undertaking different roles to those you carried out before coronavirus (COVID-19) impacted every aspect of Council service delivery.

Your health, safety and wellbeing is paramount and we hope that you are taking care of yourselves and colleagues, following the latest NHS guidance in relation to social distancing and staying well, and that you are following the advice available on looking after yourselves which has been issued and which is available on the new Employee Zone of the Council website:

Please be assured that if you are carrying any activities that requires PPE as defined in the latest guidance, we will ensure that you have it.

Particular thanks go to those of you working over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend to deliver our essential services to our most vulnerable residents.  To those of you who are able to take some time over the Easter weekend, we hope you are able to relax and take a break, observing the stay at home guidance in place.

Finally, we hope that you and your families are staying safe and well.

Thank you
