The East Dunbartonshire Economic Partnership (EDEP) consists of Department for Work and Pensions, Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce, East Dunbartonshire Council, East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action, Federation of Small Businesses, Scottish Enterprise, Skills Development Scotland, and VisitScotland. EDEP is responsible for delivering Outcome 1 of the Local Outcomes Improvement Plan:
“East Dunbartonshire has a sustainable and resilient economy with busy town and village centres, a growing business base, and is an attractive place in which to visit and invest”
EDEP has prepared a Draft Economic Development Strategy for 2017 which has a number of planned actions for expanding the economy by supporting areas such as local business, town centres, tourism and the local environment. The outcomes of which are available in background reports.
This research process consisted of:
Economic Research – A full socio-economic analysis of the area
Policy review – A review of relevant national, regional and local policy affecting local economic development
Consultation – consisting of a tourism workshop, online survey, and conversations with town centre businesses
We are now consulting on the draft strategy to ensure it reflects the aims and objectives of the community and their vision for the East Dunbartonshire economy. Details are on the consultation webpage. If you have any questions or comments please contact Development.firstname.lastname@example.org
