Early Years Consultation - Torrance and Milton of Campsie

This consultation is now closed as of 17 February 2019

Early Years Consultation in the villages of Torrance and Milton of Campsie to shape the development of plans for delivering 1140 hours of funded early learning and childcare by 2020

Overview

Early Learning and childcare across the country is going through a period of transformational change over the next few years, to fulfil the Scottish Government’s pledge to almost double the number of funded hours for eligible children. This will allow families increased flexibility in choosing accessible, affordable, high quality early learning and childcare. East Dunbartonshire Council is working closely with Scottish Government, stakeholders and private and voluntary sector funded providers to plan and implement services that meet the needs of our children and families.

Why we are consulting

By taking part in the survey, the views and experiences of families living in the villages of Torrance and Milton of Campsie will shape a service that will enable us to meet the commitments for our children by 2020.
If you do not have access to internet facilities, you can make your views known to Torrance or Craighead Primary School who will support you to complete the form.

The consultation will run from 7 January to 17 February 2019

Consultation Results:

This consultation highlighted the need for an extended day, extended year centre in Torrance to allow flexibility and accessibility for families. As a result, the Council's Early Learning Centre there will open from 8am-6pm.  In Milton of Campsie, feedback showed that there was demand for a term time model within the local authority centre so it will operate from 9am-3pm to complement what is already offered by the funded provider within the village.
