Draft New Local Housing Strategy (LHS) 2017-2022

Welcome to the East Dunbartonshire Consultative Draft Local Housing Strategy (LHS) which covers the five year period from April 2017 to March 2022. The strategy has been produced in partnership with stakeholders including other registered social landlords, service providers, statutory bodies as well as our tenants, residents and Elected Members.

The LHS is the principal housing plan for the area which investigates the main challenges relating to our homes and the people living within them.

The strategy is important as it sets our vision for what we want to achieve locally to improve housing across all tenures (such as social and private rent and owner occupation), and in turn how we are going to tackle these issues over a 5-year period.

We achieved significant improvement through our last LHS which was adopted in 2012. We aim to consolidate and build on these successes, completing current projects and taking forward new projects. Our actions also reflect the continually evolving national and local policy context.

Consultation

Formal consultation will take place from 9 January 2017 until 30 January 2017.   Consultation questions are contained in the Draft Housing Strategy within the documents section of this page.  An online questionnaire is also available below. Following the consultation period we plan to finalise the Strategy for implementation in April 2017.

We would encourage all our partners and stakeholders to respond to the questionnaire with their views and comments.
