Depute provost celebrates success

Depute Provost Gary Pews attended the recent Clyde Scouts' Celebrating Achievements event at the Wellington Church in Glasgow.

The outstanding recipient was Heather Turner - a volunteer leader with the Kirkintilloch group and with the Kelvin Valley District Scout Network.

Heather was awarded no fewer than four awards on the night:

·    the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Gold award
·    the Queen's Scout award
·    the Chief Scout's Diamond Award
·    the Scouts of the World Award.

The Scouts of the World Award is a rare honour, given to Heather for her work in improving the environment of her local area. From over 200 award recipients on the night, Heather was the only one to be given this honour.
