Consultation on Licensing Policy Statement for East Dunbartonshire

This consultation is now closed as of 30 November 2018.

East Dunbartonshire Licensing Board (EDLB) is required to publish a statement every three years on how it aims to promote the five objectives contained within the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005.

These are:

•           Preventing crime and disorder
•           Securing public safety
•           Preventing public nuisance
•           Protecting and improving public health
•           Protecting children and young people from harm.

EDLB’s new draft Licensing Policy Statement covers a range of matters – including  extended weekend opening hours for certain ‘on-sales’ premises, outdoor drinking areas and over-provision.

The draft statement is available to view from the Documents section on this page and at local libraries.

Please note, in accordance with Scottish Government guidance, any consultation responses regarding over-provision of licensed premises must contain robust and reliable evidence which suggests that a saturation point has been, or is close to being, reached.

Written responses to the draft Licensing Policy Statement can be e-mailed to rsc@eastdunbarton.gov.uk or sent to Karen Donnelly, Clerk to the Licensing Board, Legal and Democratic Services, East Dunbartonshire Council, 12 Strathkelvin Place, Kirkintilloch, G66 1TJ.

The consultation will start on 2 November 2018 and close on 30 November 2018.
