The Provost’s Community Champion Awards 2023 – Community Champion winner Lorraine MacDonald was presented with her award by Provost Gillian Renwick and Depute Provost Colette McDiarmid. Lorraine has worked tirelessly for over a decade supporting local charities and schools. She supports all age groups including befriending through East Dunbartonshire Befriending Service to reduce elderly isolation, supporting Brackenbrae House with craft events and hosting cookery classes at Families of Auchinairn Coming Together (FACT).She has also fundraised for children’s charities, foodbanks, football teams and Tickled Pink.
As she was presented with her Award Lorraine said, “This is so unexpected but it’s wonderful to know that people took the time to nominate me. I love being involved in the community and doing what I can to help others.”
