CMT Christmas and New Year Message to our Workforce

As we approach the end of the year and a time when many of you will be about to embark on well-earned breaks, we wanted to take this opportunity to express our sincerest and heart-felt thanks to each and every one of you for the amazing effort and  commitment you have shown throughout the huge challenges of 2020.

None of us could have imagined the impact the Covid-19 pandemic would have on our work lives and our personal lives this year.  We continue to be both incredibly appreciative and incredibly proud of the fantastic job you are doing to ensure that the people of East Dunbartonshire continue to receive our vital Council services despite the challenges and restrictions that impact everything we do.

Our workforce, across all of our service areas, has risen to the huge challenges and sometime daily changes that Covid-19 has presented, showing resilience, flexibility and inspiring commitment as we have adapted service delivery and introduced new requirements to ensure that the most vulnerable in our communities have received the support they have needed when they have needed it.

We want to also thank those of you who will be continuing to work over the festive period to ensure vital services are delivered – we hope you can still spend some quality time with your families and loved ones as you fulfil your critical roles.

While Covid-19 and the restrictions it brings will still be very much with us as we enter the New Year, the further roll out of the vaccination programme does bring hope for a more positive year ahead.

We hope that you get the opportunity to rest and unwind over the festive period and that you and your families have a happy and safe Christmas and New Year as we look forward to more positive 2021.

Thank you
