Can you believe it’s the end of January already? Christmas and New Year feels like a long time ago, but I hope you all had a lovely time and for those who delivered our frontline services during the festive period – thank you once again.
As ever, our focus at this time of year is setting the Council budget. We are working hard to identify income and savings to reduce our budget gap. There was information on our approach in the budget update to the Council meeting on 17 December, and the meeting to agree the Council’s budget for 2024/25 is scheduled to take place on Thursday 22 February. I’d like to thank you all for your commitment to delivering our essential services to the people of East Dunbartonshire during these challenging times.
I also wanted to let you know more about my regular updates to you all. We will be looking adapt what was my fortnightly Depute Chief Executive update, and we would like as many people as possible to get involved in developments.
Shortly, the Communications & Engagement team will be sending out some information to every service. They will be looking for feedback, stories, and employee milestones to help shape a new approach.
We will also organise a series of focus groups with representatives from across all our services. These will allow you to have your say on how we communicate with employees and help to shape what this will look like and include.
Please look out for the email and do get involved as much as you can.
