Consultation on Revised Gambling Act 2005 Statement of Principles

East Dunbartonshire Council is carrying out consultation on Statement of Principles for Gambling – from 30 November 2021 to 10 January 2022.
 
The Gambling Act (2005) (the Act) requires a licensing authority to prepare the Statement they propose to apply in exercising their functions under the Act. The Statement must be reviewed every 3 years.
 
The Council is working with The Gambling Commission, Police Scotland, persons or organisations representing the interests of persons carrying on gambling businesses and the wider general public to gather views on the revised draft Statement of Principles.

This consultation was well publicised on social media with the potential of a substantial number of views, different interest groups were written to and a number of acknowledgements were received from external consultees. A substantial response submitted by the Council's Planning service.
