It has been announced today, Friday 1
March, that East Dunbartonshire Council’s website has been rated 4
stars in the 2013 Better Connected survey.
The Council is one of eight local authorities
in Scotland to achieve the highest possible website rating
following the 15th annual survey of all 433 UK local
The website received positive reviewer
feedback in relation to the improvements made to navigation over
the last year, the excellent business section and the
straightforward layout of information.
The annual survey identifies good practice in
the development of local authority websites based on extensive
evidence based research and tracked the performance and
improvements of the EDC website using a team of experienced
reviewers. Their research included:
- A main survey with 224 structured questions
- Four short surveys on specific topics such as mobile access and
- Analysis of six additional sets of data (eg accessibility and
benchmarking across the sector).
- Feedback from website visitors
Leader of the Council, Rhondda Geekie said,
“Over the last year a great deal of work has been carried out to
improve our website, focusing on customer feedback to make changes
