East Dunbartonshire Council is committed to ensuring that our schools and early years centres provide the highest standards of attainment, achievement and equity for all our children. Within the Education Leadership team, two strategic roles are available;

  • Quality Improvement Manager – Primary & Early Years
  • Quality Improvement Manager – Additional Support Needs & Children’s Services

Quality Improvement Manager – Primary & Early Years

A new position has been created within the Education Leadership Team for the post of a Quality Improvement Manager – Early Years and Primary. This strategic role would work with members of the Education Leadership Team to provide support and challenge to schools and centres to raise attainment and promote equity and equality. Alongside this, and working with other officers, the post holder would quality assure provision in line with expected national standards.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a clear vision for strategic improvement of early years and primary.

This post will also work closely with other departments within the Council to ensure our children receive the best possible experience in early years and through transition to primary education.

Quality Improvement Manager – Additional Support Needs & Children’s Services

A vacancy has arisen within the Education Leadership Team for the post of a Quality Improvement Manager – ASN and Children’s Services. This strategic role would work with members of the Education Leadership Team to provide support and challenge to schools and centres with a focus on children with additional support needs.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a clear vision for strategic improvement of support for learners with additional needs as well as having clear understanding of The Promise and children’s rights through UNCRC.

This postholder will work alongside a number of Council Services to ensure GIRFEC principles are applied. Alongside this and working with other officers, the post holder would quality assure provision in line with expected national standards

Short-listing process

Short-listing process will be conducted by the Recruitment & Selection Panel.

Candidate submissions will be assessed against:

  • The role profile
  • A competency assessment of the supporting statement.

 

Short-listed candidates will be invited to a final interview with the Recruitment & Selection Panel.

 

Recruitment & Selection Panel Interview process

The format of the interview will be:

 

  • Candidate presentation in response to a pre-set topic
  • Competency based interview.

 

Selection process

The selection decision by the Recruitment & Selection Panel will be made based on the assessment of:

 

  • CV
  • Supporting statement demonstrating suitability for role
  • Quality of presentation
  • Performance through interview process.
