Welcome to the summer 2011 edition of
edlife, the Council magazine for East Dunbartonshire
In this edition we look ahead to the budget consultation
we will undertake for the 2012/13 budget process and remind you
that the digital TV switchover is taking place and who to contact
if you still need advice.
We have a feature on the successful
Kirkintilloch 800 Showcase with details of more Kirkintilloch 800
activities in the What’s On section on the centre pages.
June saw national dementia week recognised by
the Council and details of a new dementia clinic can be found on
page 5, where we also highlight the recognition of successes
demonstrated by our school pupils throughout the area.
There is plenty to do in East Dunbartonshire
throughout the summer and the centre pages highlight some of the
activity programmes and exhibitions in the area as well as
previewing the annual Canal Festival which takes place in
Kirkintilloch at the end of August.
Information on e-Planning and new ways of
engaging with Planning and our Development and Enterprise services
are highlighted on pages 7 and 8 and you can find out when the
Council next meets on our regular Councillor page on page 10.
We hope you enjoy this latest edition of
Edlife and have a great summer enjoying all there is to offer in
Due to the Council's challenging
financial situation it was agreed in the budget that
edlife would no longer be printed and distributed
to every household. However, it’s still available to download and
printed copies are available in our Council offices, leisure
centres and libraries.
