Customers please note:
We are currently experiencing a backlog of
special uplifts due to high demand and the implementation of the
new waste service. General waste special uplifts have a
delay of approximately three weeks and fridges, other white goods
and scrap metal uplifts have a delay of approximately five weeks.
You can take your waste to our recycling and waste facility in
Bishopbriggs. Details of opening hours and
facilities available are here.
We are working to reduce the backlog and expect to catch up and
return to normal operation within two weeks.
A special uplift service is available for large items you wish to
dispose of. Some of these items may be collected free of charge,
however a charge does apply for the uplift of certain
items.
The uplift of household items which are free are:
- general household items such as chairs, sofas, beds, carpet,
free standing wardrobes, display cabinets etc. However large
quantities will be chargeable.
- white household goods - washing machines, cookers, fridges,
tumble dryers and household electrical or electronic items such as
vacuums, TVs, and PC monitors will be uplifted by a separate
vehicle as these items are no longer accepted at landfill and are
sent for recycling.
- garden waste - is collected fortnightly, however if you have
excessive amounts which will not fit into the green bin such as
tree cuttings and branches, to ensure that they are uplifted free
of charge, please tie them in bundles not exceeding four feet in
length so that they may be uplifted by an operative. However, large
quantities will be chargeable.
Please be advised that only items specified by the householder
will be uplifted.
