The Council administers a Discretionary Housing Payment scheme.
It is an independent scheme and is not a form of Housing Benefit or
Council Tax Benefit so the Housing Benefit/Council Tax Benefit
appeals procedures do not apply. It can be paid in respect of
housing costs, Council Tax costs or a combination of both.
In order to claim a Discretionary Housing Payment you need to be in
receipt of Housing and/or Council Tax Benefit and will be asked to
provide proof of living costs and explain why you need extra help.
Please contact the Benefits Team for further information.
