The first phase of the Lairdsland Consultation came to a close
on the 16th March 2012. A report has been written detailing
the response to this consultation from all stakeholders
consulted. This report has been sent to Education Scotland,
formerly HMIE, and the next phase of the consultation is for them
to provide East Dunbartonshire Council (EDC) with an independent
report about the educational benefits of the proposal.
In addition to writing the report, a representative from
Education Scotland visited the proposed site at Southbank and will
also visit the current Lairdsland Primary School to speak with
parents, pupils and staff. When EDC receives the report from
Education Scotland, this, along with the Council's own report, will
be published on the Council website and will be available at the
William Patrick Library and Tom Johnston House.
East Dunbartonshire Council is delighted to publish their
response to the independent report received from Education
Scotland. The attached publication will be available for
stakeholders to respond to, for a three week period, from 17th
April through to 8th May 2012. Following this, the report
will be updated and council officers will make recommendations to
the first available Committee of the new administration
to enable them to make a decision about the proposal.
