Everyone has a right to feel safe in
their community and people should not have to tolerate graffiti,
intimidation by disorderly groups, drunken and abusive conduct,
noisy neighbours or any other behaviour that may cause them alarm
or distress.
This type of behaviour can have a major impact on the quality of
people's lives and the Antisocial Behaviour Etc (Scotland) Act 2004
was introduced to tackle such issues.
 |
Tackling antisocial behaviour in East Dunbartonshire is a
priority for the Council, the Police and many of our partner
agencies.
Together we are determined that effective action against all
forms of antisocial behaviour will make real improvements to the
quality of life for everyone living, working and travelling in East
Dunbartonshire.
|
The Act requires each Local Authority and the Police to jointly
prepare and publish a Strategy to tackle antisocial behaviour, a
task that has been accomplished under the direction of the
Community Safety Partnership.
A new Strategy will be published shortly. This is in response to
an extensive period of consultation with a wide range of
organisations and individuals in order to ensure that it reflects
the concerns of local people. It will be available to download
shortly.
